Therapy vs. Therapeutic Support
At Water & Stone, we believe in many different types of support, so each person can find the way to connect with themselves and others in the way that best suits them. With that in mind, unless otherwise stated, many of our groups are community support based and as such may be therapeutic while not being psychotherapy. This allows us to invite people from anywhere in the country or world to be connected, creative, and in community with one another. Therapy groups will specify which states participants must live in in order to join. Please feel free to contact Emery with any questions or if you would like to hear more about the difference.

How Do Ongoing/Open Groups Work?
Some of our groups have time frames (register for 1 month or 3 months at a time). However, most are ongoing/open groups.
If you have questions or want to see if a group fits for you, please Contact Emery to discuss options. You will always have a chance to speak with the group leader before beginning.
Some of our groups have time frames (register for 1 month or 3 months at a time). However, most are ongoing/open groups.
- These groups still have a maximum number of people, so we can maintain the quality of the group.
- When there is an open seat, a new person will be able to join after a conversation with Emery and the group leader.
- Group members can be in a group for as long as it feels right them! No long term commitment is necessary.
- As a member of an ongoing group, each participant agrees to pay for their spot every session (regardless of attendance). This promotes consistency and offers the best experience for all involved.
- When someone in the group feels fulfilled by their group journey, i.e. they need a change or it's time to transition to something else, they just let the therapist know 1-2 meetings before they leave. This is so you can receive the support and closure that can come with healthy endings and transitions. You can leave at any time for any reason.
