Group Therapy and Support

All sessions and groups are now being offered online via Zoom

General Information



Ongoing/Open Groups
You can be in a group for as long as it feels right to you! No long term commitment is necessary.
As a member of an ongoing group, each participant agrees to pay for their spot, every session (regardless of attendance). This promotes consistency and offers the best experience for all involved. When you feel it's time to leave the group, you just let the therapist know 1-2 meetings before, so you can have some closure with the group members.


Groups with a Set Time Frame
When you sign up for these groups, you are joining for the full time period stated (usually 6-8 meetings). There will be an option to pay upfront or to take advantage of the payment plan (no extra cost!).

Grief in Daily Life - Online Meetings
with Emery Mikel
Mondays, 7-8pm
(Ongoing Support Group - $45/meeting, 12 people max)

Best for people experiencing a loss in the past 1-2 years.


Start your week off in a supportive and creative environment with others while exploring your own experience of grief. We never completely recover from the loss of a loved one, but time makes it easier to carry with us. This group is for those learning how to exist with grief and continue living life on a daily basis. We will explore and share both verbally and creatively (meditation, art making, etc.), but no prior experience is necessary! Emery will guide you throughout the hour and you will come away with new insights, skills for living with grief, and the ability to breathe a little easier.

Weekly Community Creative Arts Studio - Online Meetings

All types of creative and expressive arts welcome! - Art, Writing, Music, Dance, Movement, etc.
Give yourself space to explore in a way that feels good to you!

No matter what life throws at you, it helps to be in community! Please feel free to join us for a weekly creative arts group! Through creating, witnessing others, and having space to share about your experience, we will explore the therapeutic space created in a community creative arts studio. There will be guidance for intention setting at the beginning of each meeting, prompts, and a framework for sharing/listening at the end. Sharing at the end is optional and you choose what you would like to share. All welcome and no experience necessary!

Caregiver Support Group - Alternating in-person (Union Square area) and online meetings

Join other caregivers in this art therapy support group (no prior experience with art materials is needed!) Together, we will explore common themes that frequently accompany the responsibility of providing support to loved ones. Whether you are caring for children, older adults, people with disabilities, or animals, your work can often feel isolating or overwhelming. Find solace and strength in building community with others. Guided art making will provide you with a safe outlet to express complicated emotions and visualize your journey as a caregiver. Group discussion of personal and shared experiences can offer helpful insights and the emotional support needed to care for yourself as you care for others around you.

In this group, join Doris as you take part in contemplative practices, art making, journaling, and other activities that are known to promote a sense of well-being. Learn about a variety of related topics and explore ideas & tools that you can apply to your daily life. Working together with group support and time for sharing your experience, we may find that these beneficial pursuits become healthy habits that lead to increased self-compassion and wellness in our lives. No previous experience with mindfulness or creativity practices required!
