Can I Get A Witness (DUMBO) with Amina Shaw-Moss Every other Wednesday, 7-8pm
Can I Get A Witness is a group specifically designed for Women Of Color working through trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed, holding the weight of everyday stress on your shoulders? Perhaps you've held onto a secret for so long, that it's now a part of your life's story. Sometimes the sheer act of telling your truth, is the gateway to personal healing. Please join me and other women of color, as we build supportive connections through art therapy and conversation.
NEW! Divorce Group (DUMBO) with Atara Vogelstein Thursdays, 12-1pm
You are not alone. Divorce affects 40-50% of all American couples, and the effects can be traumatizing, stigmatizing or even relieving for those that experience it. Find comfort and community while reflecting on your own experience in a calm atmosphere that is dedicated to your story and healing. This 60-minute art-making session under the guidance of a licensed art therapist will aid in restoring balance to your mind, body and soul. No art experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
NEW! Fertility Group (Union Square) with Jamie Adges Sundays, 7:45-8:45pm
Are you or someone you are close to dealing with the struggles that come with starting a family and fertility? Many women and men experience the feelings of fear, sadness, confusion, inadequacy, or overwhelm that these challenges bring into your life. The good news is, you don’t have to go through it alone. We have created a space for people to come together for support, to share their stories, and to find the compassionate understanding that will help you along your fertility journey. Join our skilled creative arts therapist and a community that is here to support you. No art experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
Letting Go and Embracing Change(Lower East Side) with Jamie Adges Mondays, 7-8pm
Change can be difficult for us to embrace and manifest in our lives. We often feel stuck in old ways of thinking, or trapped by habits and patterns that prevent us from moving forward. This group calls for anyone undergoing transitions in life, struggles with change and making decisions, or has general feelings of anxiety or depression. You will be invited to release old patterns and roles that no longer serve you to embrace and prepare for positive change and transition in your life and relationships. Through Drama Therapy, we will explore the different roles we play in our lives, aspects of ourselves, our blocks and defenses, and our patterns and behavior that keep us from reaching our potential. Drama Therapy requires no theater background, but rather utilizes creative expressive techniques in addition to traditional talk-therapy. This allows us to access and re-connect with ourselves more deeply and quickly. Please join us in a path towards self-awareness and acceptance as we move through transitions and change with ease, gaining clarity in what we want and desire for our lives and ourselves.
